What is Yoghurt Cheese?
Babushka’s probiotic Yoghurt Cheese takes its inspiration from Labneh – a traditional, strained yoghurt that has been eaten across the Middle East for centuries. A popular and versatile ingredient, it is often served with olive oil and bread as a breakfast dish, and is an integral part of a mezze platter. To make Babushka’s probiotic Yoghurt Cheese, we’ve taken this idea, and made it even better! We take the finest, natural probiotic yoghurt, and then gently squeeze all the whey out of it. The result is a mouth-watering, firm, thick and spreadable natural yoghurt that is a tasty, versatile substitute for cream cheese and sour cream.

For people who cannot or choose not to eat dairy or soy, almonds are a gift. These tree nuts are nutrient rich and contain antioxidants. Plus they make for a really tasty base for dairy-free milks and ice creams.
Almond milk has been in use since the middle Ages, when it was used in cooking as a substitute for cow’s milk. Almond milk stores well, so medieval cooks used it instead of cow’s milk, which spoils rapidly without refrigeration and had to be immediately processed into butter or cheese for storage.
Almonds are rich in protein, fibre, magnesium, selenium, manganese, zinc, potassium, iron, phosphorus, trytophan and calcium. The high levels of antioxidant vitamin E in almond milk make it effective in the prevention of cancer and can slow the signs of aging.
Almond milk also contains flavonoids and good monounsaturated fats, which help to lower levels of Low-density lipoprotein (LDL) “bad” cholesterol and protect the heart. US researchers found the powerful antioxidants in almonds help inhibit the growth of radicals and support a strong immune system.
